Compare And Contrast O Movie And Othello - 788 Words
For me, I think ââ¬Å"Oâ⬠movie was a god modern-day translation of ââ¬Å"Othelloâ⬠by William Shakespeare. The themes and ideas of Shakespeare Williams were translated to the movie and that he will agree with the modernization. Iââ¬â¢ m going to compare and contrast the characters, plot and setting from the book and movie to prove my point. The movie has matching character with the book like in the book is Othello but in the movie is Odin James, Iago is Hugo Goulding, Cassio is Michael Cassio, Desdemona is Desi Brable, Emilia is Emily, Roderigo is Roger Roderiguez , Brabantio is Dean Bob Brable and Bianca is Brandy . Othello is in the army , a brave and competent soldier in the service of the Venetian state. He is referred to as ââ¬Å"the moorâ⬠andâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Next, Othello saw his handkerchief from Biancaââ¬â¢s hand and overhears Cassio talking about her and thinks heââ¬â¢s talking about Desdemona which get him so worked up that he has seizure and he plans to kill Desdemona. Moreover, Iago talks Roderigo into killing Cassio but he survived and Othello kills desdemona. Finally, after Othello found the truth that Desdemona wasnââ¬â¢t cheating on him and that Iago has been lying to him , he killed himself. In the movie ââ¬Å"Oâ⬠there is a basketball tournament taking place. Odin and Desi are boyfriend and girlfriend and she hid her relationship from her Dad. Odin and Michael gets MVP and Hugo becomes jealous because of bit. Then, Hugo talks to Roger to start a fight with Michael so he can get him off the team. After, Hugo convinces Michael to hang out and talks to Desi most the time so he can get back to the team and talks to Odin to believe that Desi is cheating with Michael . Then, Hugo sends Odin to spy on her and asks Emily to steal the scarf which Odin gave to Desi as a gift. Next, Emily found it on the floor and she gave it to Hugo then he gave it to Michael so he can give it to Brandy. Afterward, Othello is so worried about the thought that Desi might cheating with Michael which caused caused him to get violent he even pushes a kid and get into fight with Michael.
